Now I knew that I would be intimidated by this but I really am so VERY stressed out that I cannot create what I see in front of me. I am only trying to copy, not trace, but just recreate the sketches that the instructor created and I am struggling... I walked away from it this morning feeling deflated and I've come back to it this afternoon. After working for 40 minutes, I have one of the 4 drawings completed. I need to take a breath and try to get it done while Aliya is asleep so she doesn't hear all of my negative self talk that is happening right now.
Vent, vent, vent... breathe, breathe, breathe. Pick up the pencil and start again.
This exercise took me about 2 hours today. Eek! Glad that I had some time to work on it.
For the last 1/2 hour of the work, I have been listening to the broadcast of Rosh Hashanah services where my cousin Larry is one of the Cantors conducting the service.
I realize that I was supposed to come up with my own version of this assignment but I wanted to finish it so I have close variations of the samples. I may have to revisit this and come up with my own versions.
We are taking the 21 day drawing challenge and sharing our progress with the world. The challenge is a course that is on Lynda.com, http://www.lynda.com/Design-Illustration-tutorials/21-Day-Drawing-Challenge/164144-2.html, if you choose to take this on for yourselves. Comments are welcome and encouraged but when offering critique please be considerate and kind.

Denise
Now that I have completed my 365 Photo project, I am embarking on a challenge that I am pretty hesitant about.
My motivation in taking this on is the desire to improve my drawing ability, even if it is only by a small amount. I was never much of a doodler or sketcher but have admired the eye and abilities of those who seem to effortlessly make a sketch and have it look good. I am trying to keep my expectations sort of low but don't want to set myself for failure by keeping the bar too low but I want it low enough that I don't get too discouraged. I am planning on adding pictures of my images daily thus continuing my 365 project :). My supplies are purchased and I am ready to start today. Hold on tight, this might be a bumpy ride....

Sorry it was frustrating you. It was a lot harder than yesterdays for sure. It took me a lot longer than my cat did anyways. Yours look good though so just push through because we can do it.
